Building Noteworthy Character
MCC provides a safe place for children to grow and mature as musicians, leaders, and advocates for themselves and others. Participating in MCC teaches critical life skills, including listening, supporting, and encouraging one another, developing long-lasting friendships, building confidence, developing concentration, setting and achieving goals, and working for the good of the team. Milwaukee Children’s Choir is helping to form and shape the next generation of musicians and leaders.
Choirs of MCC

Grades 1 – 3 / Ages 6 – 9
Introductory Choir
Introductory Choir builds builds upon basic music skills to create a fun and rewarding choral experience and performances for children ages 6-9 years. The curriculum teaches a love for singing while developing strong aural skills, singing techniques and performance etiquette. During the hour-long rehearsal singers learn music theory, and develop their musical knowledge on paper and through singing. The Introductory Choir performs in at least three annual concerts and sometimes have other opportunities to perform in the community throughout the year.

Grades 3 – 5 / Ages 9 – 11
Preparatory Choir
Preparatory Choir continues to build elementary music skills by challenging young choristers with pieces written for two and three parts in a rewarding choral experience. Choristers focus on improving aural skills, developing advanced vocal technique, and exhibiting appropriate performance etiquette. Preparatory Choir rehearses weekly for 75 minutes and performs in at least three regular season concerts and at additional concerts and collaborative performance opportunities.

Grades 5+ / Ages 11 – 18
Lyric Chorale
Lyric Chorale is the premiere treble ensemble for advanced singers; studying advanced music theory and developing a unified ensemble sound through challenging music sung in many languages and styles. Lyric Chorale rehearses once a week for two hours and performs regularly during the academic year, including collaborative performances with Milwaukee Ballet, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Philharmonic, Bel Canto Chorus and many others.
Milwaukee Children’s Choir exists to provide exceptional choral music education and performance experiences that foster creativity, personal expression, and social growth.

The Milwaukee Children’s Choir’s mission has always been to provide exceptional choral music education for children 4K to 18 years with performance ensembles that introduce creativity, artistic expression, and social growth. Children have also received professional development opportunities by performing with groups such as the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Bel Canto Chorus, and the Florentine Opera. MCC has unified children from all over the city through collaborative singing and strengthened our community through music and connection.
