Program Support

Our Key Players Annual Campaign is the vehicle we use to raise contributed income.  In addition to the Board directed Greatest Needs Fund which supports special programs and operating expenses, we offer several donor designated gift options.

Program support includes Conservatory Connections, Early Childhood Education and Music Therapy.  Last year, Conservatory Connections served 7,917 in-school students at over 30 greater Milwaukee area schools.  In some cases our faculty provides the only music education offered and in other cases supplements an existing program.  Music education provides an alternative way of learning that helps some youth stay in school.  Visit our Conservatory Connections section of the site, for more information about this program.

The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music offers early childhood education classes for ages 4 months to 5 years.  Children learn age appropriate basic musical concepts through singing, listening, playing rhythm instruments and moving to music.  They develop motor and sequencing skills in addition to learning how to take turns, share and concentrate as they acquire an appreciation for music.  These classes are offered at the Conservatory branches as well as Urban Day School Head Start, Neighborhood House and Malaika Learning Center.  For the early childhood education class schedule

In 2008-2009 our Music Therapy program served 936 group and individual clients at 20 community centers and health agencies.  Each program is customized to address and alleviate specific challenges.  For example, the needs of an autistic child may be very different than those of a teen in a psychiatric facility or an Alzheimer patient.  Music Therapy has been shown to facilitate motor development, verbalization, body awareness, cognitive development and self expression. It also promotes wellness, manages stress, alleviates pain and can improve communication.

Sponsorship/Performance Underwriting

Several companies and individuals choose to support the Conservatory through sponsoring a concert series or an individual performance.  Last season over 8,500 people attended 122 Conservatory concerts and recitals.  Recognition benefits vary and can be customized according to the donors wishes.  View a sample agreement
