Early Childhood Classes

In an age-appropriate, supportive and enjoyable environment, the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music offers early childhood music classes for ages 4 months-5 years old. Your child will have fun learning basic musical concepts through singing, listening, playing rhythm instruments, and moving to music. Children will also develop motor and sequencing skills in addition to learning how to take turns, share and concentrate as he/she acquires an appreciation for music. Our curriculum and weekly lessons are written specifically for your child’s age group. Concepts such as high/low, fast/slow, soft/loud, start/stop, and keeping a steady beat are appropriately introduced for each age, are sequential in development and reinforced throughout the course of study. Each age group has its own curriculum and lesson plans to promote your child’s continued interest and musical progress. A parent or caregiver attends with their child and joins in the fun as a role model.

Conservatory Babies \| 6 Weeks \| $50
Ages 4-11 months Learn new concepts and songs each semester! Research indicates that providing a rich variety of experiences during the first year of life promotes strong brain development. Our Conservatory Babies class will give your baby a unique musical experience as he/she learns songs, rhymes, finger plays, bounces, wiggles, and lullabies that you can recreate at home. Together we can help lay the foundation for your child to enjoy a life-long love of music. Baby must be 4 months old by June 12, 2012. Ages 1 or 2 years Learn new concepts and songs each semester! In a class designed -specifically for this age group your child will develop motor skills and an aural awareness as he/she participates in singing, learning rhymes and finger plays, creative movement, -listening, instrument exploration and -playing percussion instruments. -Conservatory Tots will help parents learn about music development in toddlers as well as providing a fun bonding time with their child.

Our integrated approach allows your child to experience and learn basic musical concepts and develop tonal and rhythmic skills through music, literature and art. Each child is encouraged to participate at his/her own level in singing, movement, listening and instrument exploration. Designed to accommodate families with multiple children in a family-style learning setting, our Conservatory Families classes welcome children 4 months through 5 years old. Grouping children of a range of ages helps foster natural learning as the younger children enjoy watching and imitating the older ones and the older children learn by leading the younger ones. Activities are specially designed to offer early exposure to music as well as challenge the budding musician. This class is also open to families with one child.
